I can't speak for everyone on the forum, but ultimately, I like the variety in their discography. I do like Nostradamus, but I agree that this would be the time, if ever, for them to put out a serious british metal offering. I would love to see something along the lines of Defenders of the Faith mixed with Angel of Retribution. And I don't think the other 4 members of Priest would appreciate being lumped in with the Winter Songs thing. That was a Halford deal, something Rob wanted to cross off his bucket list. I just think that doing the British Steel revival tour right after releasing a new album, was bad timing. I think a short Nostradamus tour to promote their new material and a summer British Steel tour would have made more sense, but hey, I'm not in the music industry, what do I know. I just hope to hear something awesome before they hang up their axes. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by J.D. DIAMOND from Tuesday, November 24, 2009 4:01:10 AM) | | J.D. Who knows what kind of mood the band members are in at the time they write the next album? Getting a killer british metal album from these guys is not a "shoe in" at all as we all know, the next LP may turn out like Ram It Down for all we know. But this is what 95% of members on this forum like isn't it? The all like the fact that they never know what they will get from Judas Priest...could be a Painkiller, could be a Turbo, could be a British Steel, could be a cross between Nostradamus and Winter Songs...thats what almost everybody likes here is the fact that they can't count on one particular style. "I FUCKING HATE THAT FACT". I am in the 5% that just want METAL. |
