My sugesstion would be to get a registry cleaner program. I really think you have WAY too many processes running in the start up menu.
Of course I wont suggest one, because someone smarter than me probably knows how to pick that bit of software up free, where as I paid for mine.
Also check for Malware. I got a really good malware program free. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Vaillant 3.0 from Friday, August 07, 2009 7:58:14 PM) |

METALMANJP, and MR. DAVE GENOCIDE,
I don't know either of you, but I know the pain of losing someone. I'm so very sorry for your loses.
There's really nothing anyone can say that can ease your pain right now, while it's so fresh. Just know
that there are others out here, like myself, who understand.
I lost my fiance a year ago June 9th. It was unexpected and a huge shock. The grief has been overwhelming at times.
Take this opportunity to cling to those you love who remain, and anything that honors your friends is a good thing that will
help you to still feel connected to them. Be there the best way you can for their families. And if you believe in an after life, or that
the spirit/energy/soul of a person lives on - know that they are always around you. Don't be afraid to talk to them and about them
to others.
I wish you both the strength and the depth of heart that you'll need to get through this time in your lives.
If you'd like to talk to someone who relates, you can PM me and I will respond.
Most sincerly, Caron. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by METALMANJP from Friday, July 31, 2009 10:08:03 AM) | | METALMANJP wrote: | | My good friends funeral was today. I hear you... Ive been at home for 2 months now... And Im really glad I will be going to college in autumn. If I wasnt, I would have to look for a regular job, and I have better chances of winning the lotto. And in any case, I will need a part time job soon, when I run out of money.

It does suck that most people take certain things for granted. There are so many others out there who would kill to even HAVE a job in this economy. Your friend probably won't realize how lucky she has it until she quits that job. Unless she changes her mood, she'll figure out the truth the hard way.

I called Darryn friend as well. We had spirited debates and I got to know a man that , at the time, I admired in spite of our obvious differences. I think this is why it is so remarkably odd that he has done the things he has here at this point. And to be perfectly honest, I am not totally convinced that this is ALL his doing! A rather intricate undertaking for anyone, I would think. I do not recall ever "attacking" him during his tenure. We disagreed occasionally but I do recall some rather "heated" PMs. The good thing was, we kept them private. When he and JD had their last "falling out" I did everything I could to try to bring them back together. I hated seeing good friends split.
And speaking of JD, I find it more than ridiculous to suggest that he has not contributed to this site or that he has only been one dimensional. There are VERY few members of this Board, past AND present, that really "get" JD. I think that galled Darryn more than anything. JD is a very special guy and, most importantly, a VERY loyal friend. I guess I disagree most with your comment that Darryn has made the most impact here. I just do not see it. If anything, he took what could have been an incredible legacy and threw it away through his actions. He has had more than one opportunity to "come clean" and to atone and yet his response is that the "Respect Points" system makes it too much trouble to come back. Ummm.....OKAAAAAAAAY.....
It may be true that no one will forget Darryn Helloffs but it is equally true that the reasons are not all good. There are names throughout history that will never be forgotten and yet, I do not believe that is a foundation for some kind of canonization. Something happened to this man and turned him from an intelligent, thoughtful, participating member of this site to a punk. THAT is all the "legacy" I can see and, quite frankly, we have an abundance of "punks" here on this Board.

There is no denying that Darryn Heloffs was a very self-righteous and pompous man, but there is also no denying that Darryn Heloffs told it like it was. That irritated some people who would have preferred that he would go with the flow. But Darryn's style was to say his piece, let it fly, and then let us deal with it. When he was wrong, he said so. When he made a mistake, he said so. Darryn Heloffs was his own person. He was an individual, a one man movement. I think he was so far ahead of his time here. No one had ever seen anyone like him: funny, charismatic, opinionated, knowledgeable, over the top. Darryn Heloffs was one of a kind. I, for one, am glad that he has moved on. I think that he outgrew this place. His personality was too big. But there is no denying that almost three years after he left, his presence is felt probably more than anyone else that was here before him, or joined after him. Just look at all of his threads. That's him and that's his legacy. The thong thread, the politics thread, the sports thread, the birthday thread,... the list is endless. He did it bigger and more bad-ass than any of us. He did all of this before anyone else did. That's what he leaves behind. He's gone here and good riddance to the fucker, but no one has had more impact here on so many different levels than Darryn Heloffs. Like him or not, no one here will ever forget him. If he comes back, he will get his ass kicked. But how many members know the name Darryn Heloffs or J.D. Diamond? And to be truthful, what did J.D. Diamond ever leave behind here or create that will leave a mark? Just a smart-ass attitude that knows black metal. Good for him. That's really good. Black metal is cool. But Darryn's contribution was fast, hard and spitfire. Most attacked him because they either hated him, were jealous of him, or wanted to be him. And when he left, we hated him because he left us flat and cold. But just one person here says the name "Darryn Heloffs" and he's suddenly all over these pages. Everytime we post in the sports thread, that's Darryn Heloffs. Or when we talk politics, that's Darryn Heloffs too. When something goes wrong, it's Darryn Heloffs again. Everywhere you go in this place, it's Darryn Heloffs. Darryn Heloffs IS judaspriest.com. He's all over the place, even though he left this noticeboard almost three years ago.

LOL! No I'm not loaded hellrider....but I am comfortable though!! lol! I bring home about $3,400 a month and my mortgage on my house is only a little over $500 a month,as I've took over house payments from my mother(r.i.p.)
and she bought the house in 1971 I think....so its pretty cheap....but I live with my girlfriend and my roommate "Mike" that I've lived with for years so we all 3 split the rent and our other bills so it makes it even cheaper so I pocket all the rest of the cash!! lol!
There are things that come up left and right..ect..ect..ect...so I get low sometimes but not broke...especially since my child support dropped off last year, that is $350.00 bucks a month back in my pocket!!!! lol!

J.D., I love ya like a brother man. I also love Vail like a sister. She's called me on the carpet a couple times. At times I deserved it.
Don't worry about it man. She's a good person and an ass kickin' Priest fan. Cut my little sis some slack please.
She just gets tired of conflict. I know what your doing here, and hell knows it goes on forever. Whether the name be Roger Blade,
Hot for Love, Nick 5cents, or Freaky Metal Head it's all the same shitdisturber trying to disrupt this place.
Vail is no supporter of this fool I assure you.
Just wanted to clear my sister's name. It hurts me to see the core members here fight. I believe Hellrider himself told you Vail is not that way.
Love to you,
Do what you must do, and know I'm behind that goal.

Excuse me for a minute .. while gain my composure, for what Iam about to say!
Darryn, is a waste of time, and the reason he has lost so many friends is because he has made that choice himself!
When I first started to talk to him, he seemed okay,, then he became literally obsesive, This after telling me he has a wife and 2 children,, And still proceeding with his sexual e-mails, and everything else... Thus the reason I deleted and Blocked him ,, which in turn made him even madder,,,,, So when I moved last year and had no computer I was taken advantage of on this web site!!!!!!!!!!!! A account was created with a simuliar name to mine,, and the trouble started one of which was another female on the board,, I wont mention her name.. But we used to be very good friends that enjoyed one anothers jokes, and life simulairities.. Darryn decided to pretend to be ME.. and tell her all kinds of ridculious things,, and send her all kinds of messages,, Kind of like a 2 year old throwing a tantrum at toys r us..
I stated my case to many people out on the board all of WHOM were all so fond of him, and told me to be his friend in the first place... I HOPE NOW YOU CAN SEE HOW THE TRUTH HAS COME TO LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is every thing I said he was and even a bigger piece of dirt now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So enjoy it. you earned it,, And yes this place has changed... I feel I have been a good member here a honest person,, I have never hurt anyone, or set out to,,
Hence the reason I dont come here often... If just one person could have at least taken the time to see my point of view and how it was possible I may have been not exageratting when I brought all this up a year age.. ANd given me a chance .. instead of giving these half wits the opportunity..

Thank you Deep Freeze!!! Thank you my good friend for "THE TRUTH". As Freeze has said about myself: Very few here "get it". If you "get it" than cool.....if you don't ......I feel sorry for you.

Maybe next time you should read what is going on before you open your foul mouth and remove all doubt. I have NEVER liked you or your stupid fucking posts....if you left here this place would only

I feel you are confusing a "legacy" with a "cyber-infection". I mean, when one says the name Charles Manson, we all know who it is and yet, is that a "legacy"? Is a person that would come back to a place where he left in dubious "triumph" only to commit one act of malefeasance after another truly how we would label "JP. com"?????

Darryn, is a waste of time, and the reason he has lost so many friends is because he has made that choice himself!

I couldn't disagree with you more Chain74 and here's why...
Unless you have intimate information as to the who's and the why's, I'm assuming you're remarks are your opinion and not fact. To suggest he was too intelligent for this sight and everyone else were too simple for him is a slap in the face, I'm not saying that everyone here are rocket scientists, but this is a public site open to all for a Heavy Metal band. You get what you get and make the most of it. Maybe it wasn't his personality that was too big, but his own ego.
The folks that jump on the band wagon are usually the same half dozen or so, that hardly makes up the majority of the membership. I do agree that it is foolish and juvenile to do such things, but everyone has there limits, too.
Darryn is definately not to blame entirely, but he did in fact abuse the 'respect point' system by creating dubious accounts to gain his points and that in fact is deceitful and that shows no integrity at all. What's respectful about that??
He may have spent his initial time here as a great and respectful member, but the last couple of years that I am aware of, he has shown no such traits. As a matter of fact, he has become the epitomy of how a member should not act!! I can't imagine any printed words directed towards him that can justify his lack of respect to Judas Priest, their Web site or their fans in general. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Chain74 from Friday, July 24, 2009 12:39:59 PM) | | Chain74 wrote: | | There was definitely a dark side to Darryn Heloffs. He was a sly man. His posts were long-winded, but always very interesting and refreshing to read. He was a very intelligent and multi-dimensional person, during a time when 95% of the members were one-dimensional primates. Darryn Heloffs always delivered quality. He had a valid opinion on everything, wether it was music-related or society-related. He was unique because he always used solid argumentation to get his point across, instead of the usual name-calling.
Maybe he just came for friendship and said "fuck off" after a while because he did not receive it back. Maybe he could not deal with that simplistic way of thinking that was a characteristic of so many members. Like I said: maybe his personality was too big for this noticeboard. Maybe he was too intelligent and decided to call it quits. His motives are his alone. Perhaps he reached out and no one would reach back. It takes two to make an effort. It can't be all his fault. He is the only one who always receives critique. He deserves some, but definitely not all. I believe that there is something fundamentally wrong with this noticeboard and it's not "Darryn Heloffs". I don't think you can put the blame on one single member. No, it's that caveman mentality that is shared by a majority of the membership over here. When somebody tries to start an intelligent discussion on this site only one or two members participate and the discussion soon bleeds to death. But when another member starts a cyberwar everybody immediately jumps on the bandwagon. It always seems as if the majority of the membership loves that kind of negativity. That caveman mentality continues to decimate the better part of the membership and it's turning judaspriest.com into a desolate, barren desert where only a handful of primitive creatures will feel at home.
The list of members that have left this site is astonishing. Anyone remember Priest_Hammer, Metal Meltdown, Hard As Iron, I.M.P., Pitbullgirl, Timboni, DemonCat, Painkiller1990, Sullivan Titwillow, RoboCaster, fatman_rick, DEN1673,...? I could post a few dozen more, but you get my point. I remember that an English gentleman used to post over here, but he soon left after a few members (very foolish people) started to call him names. That's a nice example of what's going on in here. I believe that something similar happened to Darryn Heloffs. (Quoting Message by Deep Freeze from Friday, July 24, 2009 8:41:30 AM)

Yes, I suppose there is something to your position. I feel that I have a different perspective since I made it a point to befriend Darryn AND to attempt to stay in touch via e-mail LONG after he had left. As for spirited debate, we certainly had ours. Whether or not I would define that as "refreshing" I do not know. He was articulate, yes. He was opinionated, as are most of us. However, he never struck me as the Renaissance man you describe. I suppose that too is a matter of opinion. Regardless, I do agree that it is not entirely his fault. At least not that so many left. However, anything he has done that is subversive is ALL him. One cannot deflect blame simply by claiming misunderstanding.
As for the dozen "missing" members you mention, about half are truly missed. The others still come around when life allows. I chatted with MM a couple days ago and Den YESTERDAY, albeit not on this site. Iron is actually in Arizona now but I am not sure when he will return. That does not mean that this Board has become the wasteland you seem to wish it to be. I comepletely disagree with that characterization. In fact , I will go you one better and state FOR THE RECORD that the large majority of those that do not come here any longer are FAR better off elsewhere anyway. Good riddance, I say. In fact, there are certainly a couple more that I truly wish would join them. Nothing all that "astonishing" there, I assure you. All MY opinion, of course.
The "caveman" mentality is an interesting analogy. Clearly we have seen our fair share of moronic behavior but I still hold that there is nothing all that surprising about it, given that this IS a public forum and is NOT moderated. Were Murray to make THAT change and I am certain it would be an entirely different environment here. In all honestly, I have NO interest in seeing this site become The "Q" Redux. I would just as soon police ourselves, such as we can, and enjoy those that truly come here to make friends. There is NO denying that there are many here for that very purpose and there will always be those looking to troll...

You know Chain, that is a very interesting and well thought-out post. There are points with which I can even agree but I feel you are confusing a "legacy" with a "cyber-infection". I mean, when one says the name Charles Manson, we all know who it is and yet, is that a "legacy"? Is a person that would come back to a place where he left in dubious "triumph" only to commit one act of malefeasance after another truly how we would label "JP. com"????? We have all seen that ANY nimrod can create a Thread ( or TEN) and there are enough lemmings here to sustain it. Please! Creating a Thread is NO basis for admiration.
That speaks volumes for his true character...not the guy you see ripping faces off here in the Threads. Like I said, very few "get it".

There was definitely a dark side to Darryn Heloffs. He was a sly man. It's a well-known fact that he was obsessed with the respect point system. He really wanted that title, but he was not the only one. I wouldn't say that I really liked him, but I always respected him. One can not be blind for his contributions. He gave a lot to this site.
I know But really it's the new members who suffer the most. The old timers here have weathered him (and many others) for so long, they're probably numb to it all and see it for what it is. On the flip side, most of the old timers don't spend much time hanging out in the newbie threads like some of us do, and as a result we see most of the new comers first and they are exposed to us and therefore should keep that in mind when hanging out there...just my opinion!!! Darryn is JP.com??
Darryn is the noticeboard??
God beware!!
I don't know him because of his earlier times here.
Could be possible that he was a really good guy, friend and member here, but he have changed himself to the greatest
asshole since this site was comin' up!!
Someone hated him, that's right. Try to imagine why!!
Yes, Ron is right, Darryn is an intelligent human beeing.
We're in the same age!! 45!! I don't know what's happend with him, but that's not an apologize for his wrong and bad doing here. As a post-Darryn Helloffs Era member, there are 2 sides to him I'm aware of. I once clicked on his profile from the Most Respected Member area and clicked on his Posts to see what this guy was like. Anyone who's ever done that knows that the site only shows like the first 100 posts, but it was more than enough to realize that the guy was intellegent, knowledgeable, articulate, engaging and would pretty much chat with anyone. A lot of his opinions were not my cup of tea, but respectful none the less. What happend?? I wasn't around then, but something did because the Darryn then is not the Darryn now. I'm sure I've engaged if not befriended some of these alter-egos of his, they all seem to have their own personality. What I do know is that he abused the system set up here at this site. I never have, nor will I ever, look at him as a respectful individual nor do I feel him in any positive sense of the word. I do not feel I owe him anything nor do I look at him as having been of any benefit here. As Freeze pointed out, any idiot can create a thread, myself included. He was here at the beginning so it's no great suprise he created some of them as there were none...big deal!!! He's changed his name more often than a porn star and has stirred up way more trouble than he's worth. He's more a pariah than an innovator and has done more to hurt JP.com than to help or promote. The worst part of Darryns presence here is that newer members like myself, who used to welcome most all new members to the Board here, now don't care because I won't waste anymore of my time until they've been here long enough to establish themselves, which sucks because there are a lot of new cool people, but because of Darryn, I can't trust who they are and have been disappointed far too many times when I realize it's just another personality of his. This place, not so long ago, was a really fun place to be. Now, it's more of a trash bin...and that, in large part, we owe Darryn a very warm thank you for!!!! Way to go, buddy!!!!! |

That speaks volumes for his true character...not the guy you see ripping faces off here in the Threads. Like I said, very few "get it".

I'm not defending anyone. All I'm asking is that you stop all the name-calling and all the insults you made to this guy. Simply stop. He supposedly means nothing to you. Why are you attacking a wall, so to speak?
