J.D., I'm a little late (on account of the fact that I'm sicked up with feckig flu lol) but better late than never huh?
Congratultions on 2 years of teetotalling! Indeed, you should celebrate and with vigor!
I'm also very impressed that you can still go out with your mate who still drink and not be tempted or judge them. This is a very big thing. You sound very level headed and very comfortable with you you have become.
Please keep up the good work and enjoy your new take on life.
My father was an alcoholic, his father was and my mother's father was so we have a predisposed genetic link to alcoholism in my family. I know that nothing is worth putting my family through what I grew up with as a kid so I respect anyone who makes the choice to become a better person. Parrots, more....you have to will them to people. Kiko is my best friend although Calvin demands more camera time. Had HER (hard to determine sex on a cocatiel) for some 10 years. She LIVES with me. I go upstairs to sleep, so does she (and Fred). I come down, so does she. Most social creatures in the world and I guarantee smarter than the dogs. Most things that kill them early is malnutrition, open door (you MUST keep a two door rule when they are out), and drowning. You can always tell a bird house as the toilet lid is always down. As they are both in bed, pictures to follow. Here I sit with Calvin who walked up my drive one day. First he didn't know it was coming. Second, he posed in front of my KK84 Hamer! Please notice the camo pillow for him...I try to fit in! LOL!

Yeah I know....it sucks....but its a life experience having an animal....its the risk we all take when we get them..ect...as you know obviously...
but I think that the good times with them out-weigh the pain from losing them so its kind of a catch 22 if you will ya know it? You have
any animals right now Hellrider? I would do the same thing. Bella, my last Cattledog had a short life. She was epileptic and would have cluster seizures but I tried the best I could missed work due to being up all night with her, got her on Meds but they were not enough. She died just two months short of her third birthday, as she went into seizures even valium could not stop. I cried like crazy over her. My face was supper swollen from crying over her. I still had to go to work the next day. She was a beauty. She was a star! A shooting star too soon to burn out. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by J.D. Oh KEWL! Looks like I showed up at the right time!
Great news about the job, J.D. I'll start thinking up some evil we can do with that sucker ASAP!
(oh, and btw....I donate regularly to both our local humane society as well as to the one in Michigan where I got my two rescue birds. I've easily placed a hundred animals over the years and actually HELP in the cleaning and care of animals at our local rescue place. Plus, I am nice! HAAAAA!!!). Now then, back to the peening.... :) |
