Nope, never said any of that. Never said a thing about homophobia. Never said metal didn't have classical elements. All I said was that orchestra music is not metal. Read. And yes ,Iron Maiden on piano is sad. Maybe you should just stay out of this thread. Assuming, so are you gonna stop doing that or what? As soon as you do, I will too.
I didn't say classical was my favorite style of music, or metal with classical elements, I love it all the same though.
I agree that Rush aren't metal, there just prog rock, still a good band though.
But I don't see how Iron Maiden songs done on piano is sad though. They sound amazing. Like I said, they sound as if they were written on piano's originally. Not all bands music can do that, but some do. And there's nothing sad about being able to play an instrument other then guitar and drums. If anything, piano is more challanging then guitar simple because your playing the guitar oriented parts and the bass parts all at the same time. And controlling different effects with your foot too, like making notes sustain and whatnot. | | Numero Uno wrote: | |
Homophobe? Iron Maiden not metal? Lets get the record straight here kid, I never said any of that, ok. You really know how to read things in don't you. Like I said before, I have a mind of my own and form my opinions without watching some tv show or youtube. My advice to you would be to stick with the orchestra type music thing that you like to go on and on and on about so much. That type of music seems to suit you best. lol
"Iron Maiden songs done on piano on youtube" Sad.

Really? Wow I didn't know that haha. There is a reason Ripper is not considered one of the top 4 metal singers, and Rob. But if he likes Tim over Rob, fair enough, but to say Ripper is a better singer, that's just retarded haha.
But again, he's pretty ignorant to facts of things and how things are. Probably not even aware that there is a difference between Singers and Vocalists.
Singers:
Rob Halford
Bruce Dickinson
Goeff Tate
Ronnie James Dio can also sing when he chooses.
Vocalists:
Ripper
James Hetfield
Tom Araya
Axl Rose for the most part. He ain't much of a singer.
Also for Numero Uno on the arguement of metal and classical/orchestra whatever arguement:
Look up some Iron Maiden songs done on Piano on youtube. You might be surprised how "classical" they are. And if you actually argue that Maiden aren't a metal band, I'm gonna have to assume you have something wrong with you. This is the arguement I've been saying. METAL HAS CLASSICAL elements that work amazingly well with orchestras and whatnot. NOT all of it is or can, but for the most part, most of it does work well. Whether you want to admit it or not. But then again I wouldn't expect you to know that really because all you listen to is screaming heavy metal 24/7. Open your mind man, I don't want to argue with you over what you think isn't a fact, but actually is.
Back to Maiden songs on Piano. If you put an orchestra behind that, it'd sound amazing and exactly like those old composers hundreds of years ago, EXACTLY. Listen to Sanitarium done on the piano (the not thrash parts), it sounds like it was written for piano.
Now bands like Slayer and what not don't work well, because that would sound like shit on a piano.
Look at all the bands that have used orchestras in there music and it turned out great.
Priest.
Metallica.
Maiden.
Scorpions.
Nightwish.
etc.
About the Metal: A Headbanger's Journey, because I know your too ignorant to even read my post:
I didn't form any of my opinions or even pretty much learned anything from the movie that I don't already know. It's just a very well done documentry on metal, and most of it's genres in general. Have you seen it? If you did, you'll know the thing I'm talking about at the first of it when he explains the connection to classical music.
And like I said IN MY OTHER POST. I didn't learn that from the DVD, I've been saying that for years because I realized the connection by myself, because I have an open mind to ALL types of music. Not saying that's better, it just helps a lot forming opinions and respecting music.

Maybe that explains his preference of Ripper over Rob.

Oh for fuck's sake buddy, it's not hard to tell your an ignorant shit that really NEEDS top open his mind.
READ MY POST, it's not hard to tell you haven't dont that either. I don't need a goddamn film to tell me what is and isn't. I form my own opinions from what i see and hear. How fucking old are you buddy? You sure as hell don't come off as an adult, at all.
If you seriously think ONE genre of music is good for you, fair enough, but it's a FACT your missing out on an awful lot of good music. Even try different SUB-genres if really feel like you can't branch out and open your mind. Fuck buddy, I bet your even a homophobe haha.

Hey I don't have to go watch some TV show to tell if somethig is metal or not. I listen to the music and make my own decision. Are you capable of doing that? You don't seem to be.
Screaming metal 24/7 is good for me. Edited at: Monday, January 12, 2009 1:31:30 PM |
