I think Angel Of Retribution has enough power. To be honest hellrider,I think Defenders Of The Faith is "softer" than Angel Of Retribution.Its not a bad thing,its my opinion.But if Angel Of Retribution lacks power in your opinion,Defenders Of The Faith must really lack power and so must Hell Bent For Leather no? I read an article that Angel of Retribution was supposed to purposely "not achieve" a Painkiller sound and production. They wanted to achieve a Screaming For Vengeance /Defenders Of The Faith sound and production and thats exactly what Angel of Retribution is to me its an album that belongs with the class of Screaming For Vengeance and Defenders Of The Faith. Out of the 3 albums I like Screaming For Vengeance the best but I like Angel Of Retribtion better than I like Defenders Of The Faith,I have ever since Retribution came out,I understand your cravings for "power" like the Painkiller,but I thought that they achieved what they were trying to do with it,10 songs and the only one that sucked was the last one(Lochness)lol!!!

I can't speak for everyone on the forum, but ultimately, I like the variety in their discography. I do like Nostradamus, but I agree that this would be the time, if ever, for them to put out a serious british metal offering. I would love to see something along the lines of Defenders of the Faith mixed with Angel of Retribution. And I don't think the other 4 members of Priest would appreciate being lumped in with the Winter Songs thing. That was a Halford deal, something Rob wanted to cross off his bucket list. I just think that doing the British Steel revival tour right after releasing a new album, was bad timing. I think a short Nostradamus tour to promote their new material and a summer British Steel tour would have made more sense, but hey, I'm not in the music industry, what do I know. I just hope to hear something awesome before they hang up their axes.

Who knows what kind of mood the band members are in at the time they write the next album? Getting a killer british metal album from these guys is not a "shoe in" at all as we all know,the next LP may turn out like Ram It Down for all we know.But this is what 95% of members on this forum like isn't it? The all like the fact that they never know what they will get from Judas Priest...could be a Painkiller,could be a Turbo,could be a British Steel,could be a cross between Nostradamus and Winter Songs...thats what almost everybody likes here is the fact that they can't count on one particular style. "I FUCKING HATE THAT FACT". I am in the 5% that just want METAL.
